eBay: three sets of Bf109 & Bf110 negatives

I'm glad I caught them before they vanished Neil... I do though find it strange that the previous two sets are still available... As for what else is included in each set Chris, 580 negatives gives a large amount of scope for additional images of the same quality. Given that both are now over 100+ Euros each with 5 days remaining, somebody is going to pay a large amount for money the privilege to view them all!

Mmmmmmmm... not sure what's happened there, but the auction linked in post #16 has been removed...

eBay: three sets of Bf109 & Bf110 negatives

Another set of negatives has been added by the same seller here, of which the examples listed have been copied, inverted and posted here for your pleasure. More personalties, but interesting nonetheless:

eBay: three sets of Bf109 & Bf110 negatives

My pleasure Goran... its nice to know that somebody here appreciates the time and effort put into working on the images, especially as no doubt the copies above will be saved in various members own photo directories Anyway, here are the ones I missed: It'll be interesting to see how much these two sets go for. I wonder if the 580 negatives are all as good as the selection the seller has posted of if these are a carrot to get us all interested and bidding?
  7. This nice selection of Bf110's captioned as serving with SKG210 are currently available on eBay via the links below: No doubt John Vasco with have a few words to share with us about these images especially as some appear in his excellent "The Sting of the Luftwaffe" [schiffer, 2001]. The images found in this volume are (numbered 1 to 8 left to right): #2 appears spread over pages 52 & 53 #3 appears on page 35 and is the same S9+AH mentioned in post #2 here. #4 appears on page 45 and shows Hptm.Wolfgang Schenck being greeted after his 200th mission Of the rest above: #1 looks out of place in the company of these SKG210 Bf110's #6 & #7 appear to be covering a ceremony after 100 missions? http://cgi.ebay.de/Orig-Foto-Flugzeug-Me-110-SKG210-ZG1-Wespengeschwader-/130470719335 http://cgi.ebay.de/Orig-Foto-Flugzeug-Me-110-SKG-210-ZG1-Wespengeschwader-/130470731209 http://cgi.ebay.de/Orig-Foto-Flugzeug-Me-110-SKG210-ZG1-Wespengeschwader-/130470732872 http://cgi.ebay.de/2-x-Foto-Flugzeug-Me-110-SKG210-ZG1-Wespengeschwader-/130470741458 http://cgi.ebay.de/Foto-Flugzeug-Me-110-SKG-210-ZG-1-Wespengeschwader-/130470745155 http://cgi.ebay.de/Foto-Flugzeug-Me-110-SKG-210-ZG-1-Wespengeschwader-/130470747662 http://cgi.ebay.de/Foto-Flugzeug-Me-110-SKG-210-ZG-1-Wespengeschwader-/130470749542

    eBay: nice selection of ZG1, ZG26 & SKG210 Bf110 photos

I don't know what to think about the some of the prices these photos sell for John. All I do know is that the seller of the 7 linked in post #1 has made 431 Euros from shots that are already known, albeit there is no reason to think that they're not genuine prints, but as we say here in the UK, its a nice little earner...

eBay: new Arado Ar234 wreck colour photo?

Just to add still further Chris, this appears to be Ar234C, WNr.250006 as discussed here...

eBay: new Arado Ar234 wreck colour photo?

I knew I'd seen it somewhere. I note that the caption in the readers forum for LimF No.8 makes mention that Ar234C's were supposed to be flown from Lechfeld to Riem. The first crashed on take-off, whilst the second, piloted by Stabsing Strobl, continued his sortie and flew is Ar234C to Munchen-Riem. So this appears to be the mystery Ar234 captured on the scrap heap at Riem...

eBay: new Arado Ar234 wreck colour photo?

With regards the image linked in post #1, in this instance, I may be wrong, but I'm fairly sure the image has been reproduced from an original series of slides which also include the famous blurred shot of a Jv44 Fw190D-9 on the Munchen-Riem scrap pile. There certainly appears to have been an Ar234 at Munchen-Riem as can be seen in photo #6 of post #1 here. I just can't seem to locate the same colour image in any of my books...

eBay: new Arado Ar234 wreck colour photo?

I'm sure that I've seen this image published somewhere Chris, but for the life of me I can't remember where...

eBay: Bf109F/G coded -13+ with US servicemen

Thanks for the additional clarification Bernd... I would still be interested in the significance (or not) of the hatch under the number 3. Surely this means that this example could have been a photo-recc bird?
  19. These three interesting shots, showing American servicemen posting in and around a Bf109F/G coded -13+ (red/yellow 13?), are currently available on eBay via the links below: http://cgi.ebay.com/WW2-PHOTO-GI-CRASHED-GERMAN-ME-109-FIGHTER-PLANE-3-/380299388670 http://cgi.ebay.com/WW2-PHOTO-GI-CRASHED-GERMAN-ME-109-FIGHTER-PLANE-2-/380299388420 http://cgi.ebay.com/WW2-US-PHOTO-GI-CRASHED-GERMAN-ME-109-FIGHTER-PLANE-/380299388212

    eBay: Unknown a/c nose

A very long thread over on the FlyPast forum here has come up with the very good suggestion that it may have belonged to Sud-Est SE.400: http://www.aviafrance.com/aviafrance1.php?ID=1117&ID_CONSTRUCTEUR=1144&ANNEE=1939&ID_MISSION=0&MOTCLEF= http://richard.ferriere.free.fr/3vues/se400_3v.jpg

eBay: Bf109F/G coded -13+ with US servicemen

Thanks for the additional detail Chris... I am intrigued by the two access panels missing their covers. The one nearest to the fuselage theatre band on section 5 is where I understand the first-aid pack was stored. I can also just make out the circular main compass access on section 2 at the base of the number 1. But can anybody confirm what is the second access panel under the number 3 on section two is there for? Having been through "Messerschmitt Bf109G-1 through Bf109K-4" by J.C.Mermet [1999], it is not mentioned on any of the Bf109G-series line drawings. Given the position of cameras fitted to Bf109F & Bf109G-series, could it be a camera access panel making this something like a Bf109G-6/R2/trop photo reconnaissance example?

Certainly looks Glider-ish Tom... I've put the feelers out elsewhere and will report back here as/when or if I get any response...

eBay: late-war Bf109's with high rudders & extended tail wheel

Thanks for that Chris, a far better scan than the one I tried to extract from my electronic copy
  24. Currently available on eBay here and reproduced below, this interesting (and new to me) photo and a close-up shows two late-war Bf109's, the furthest of which also has the long tail-wheel. Uploaded here for discussion & posterity... Interesting camo scheme on the nearest, possible high-altitude example?

eBay: late-war Bf109's with high rudders & extended tail wheel

Thanks for the pointers Chris & Christian. I have an electronic copy of the Monogram Close-Up No.7 but its not the best scan so I can't reproduce the photo included for others here to see. Do you (or anybody else) know if the image has been published elsewhere?
