Reproduced below is the welcome instruction/message you'll receive when joining the LEMB, please read it carefully and note that once you have applied to join, you must respond to the validation email before being able to view or post on the forum.

Let me start by making you fully aware that although this may appear to be just another member participation message board, we do do things very much differently here. If you cannot be polite, accept constructive criticism or take the time to read the forum rules, please do not join. Please note that once you have registered, you must the validate your registration, as failure to do so after 4 days will result in the deletion of your registration request. If you have junk or spam programmes running, please note that the validation email sent to you can be caught and held, so please check there if no email is forthcoming. Please also note that you will not be able to view or post any of the sub-forums until after you've validated your email address. Please allow up to 8 hours for me to validate your application. In most cases, validated email applications are approved within a couple of hours.

Please remember that we are not responsible for any of the messages posted. Nicknames & Avatars...

Please can we ask that when you are choosing a username, please try and put some sensible thought into what you choose, plus please note that there some straightforward restrictions.

• Sensitive subjects or sexually explicit words are not allowed.
• Silly or unsuitable nicknames, especially those with any form of SS or Neo-Nazi link are not allowed, even if they are complete innocent. If others can come up with a sensible nickname, then I expect yours to be sensible too. Any member applications with unsuitable nicknames will be deleted.
• The uploading of avatars or member images is currently NOT allowed.
• The use of symbols in usernames is not allowed. Please just use plain text.
• Nicknames that are similar to those already being used are also not allowed. If required any one of the LEMB moderators will take the required steps to force a name change.
• Nicknames all in UPPER CASE or CAPITALS are not allowed.
• Inappropriate or animated avatar images will be removed without warning, so please use your imagination when choosing your image

The Golden LEMB Rules...

Just so that we are all aware, especially the newer members, these are the 12 straight forward golden rules I deem necessary to enable smooth operation of the LEMB:

• No profanity (and use of ****), sexist, racist or unkind comments. Please treat all members as you would like to be treated.
• Constructive criticism of posts and good natured debating is most welcome. Any trolling WILL NOT be tolerated.
• We have the right to reproduce any part of LEMB posts/threads/messages elsewhere.
• No political comments whatsoever will be allowed.
• Any neo-nazi/SS discussion or the sale/pointers to associated paraphernalia are strictly forbidden.
• If you cannot solve an argument on the board, please take your discussions elsewhere, like the boards Private Message (PM) facility or good old fashioned email. All members can be contacted via the PM service provided as part of the boards services. Please use it if it becomes necessary.
• Advertisements are allowed on the board, as long as they are covered by the title of the list. Direct links to site that share published books are NOT ALLOWED.
• Links in signatures to anything other than Luftwaffe related subjects are not allowed.
• Please DO NOT multiple post the same post or question several times in different areas of the board. One post or question in the appropriate forum is all that is necessary. If you are in any doubt as to the correct forum to post, please contact me via the PM facility here
• The straight forward practice of bumping old or unanswered posts is not allowed. Please use to imagination if you wish to resurrect an old thread.
• Please do not just post a link to your question elsewhere or on another message board. Please post the question in full on the LEMB. We have no problem with you cutting and pasting the question from elsewhere.
• The excessive use of quoting text from previous posts in a thread, especially those in a question/answer right before your own post, is not allowed. Quoting sections of text from previous answers earlier in a thread is allowed. We reserve the right to edit or remove sections of quoted text that break this rule.
• Please use the full width of the answer box when replying. We reserve the right to tidy up posts which do not use the complete width.
• Please do not type in CAPITALS. This is classed as shouting and is not acceptable here. You can make your point without the need to shout.
• Please post all messages in ENGLISH only. If you post any other languages, please ensure that you post suitable translation. Also, please understand that English may not be the mother tongue of people who post. Please bear this in mind when replying. Any posts left in languages other than English will be deleted.
• Please note the rules on copyright. A separate thread on this topic can be found here and all images must be no bigger than 800pixels wide.
• Abuse of the Private Message (PM) facility is not allowed. The addition of images sent via PM is also not allowed. If you wish to share images outside of the board, you can do so via email.
• Signatures should be kept short and minimum of graphical content. A contributor may put a link to his/her personal website in their signature however posting advertising of commercial sites may result in them being removed.
• Please can you try and maintain the use of the default text veranda size 2 when posting? There is no need for colour text, large text or fancy scripts.
• Please do not hot-link images from other sites. Bandwidth theft by this method is not permitted on this or many other forums. If you have an image on another site that you wish to bring to the attention of others, a straight forward URL link will suffice.
• A direct link must be provided to any Ebay auctions if any image/images from the auction are uploaded or posted on the LEMB.

We reserve the right to edit or tidy posts and move upload images to retain structure and legibility. This is especially the case with incorrect use of abbreviations and excessive use of quotes from previous posts in a thread or the excessive use of paragraphs are used. There is no need to repeat all text from a post before yours but please note that we never delete images or text unless they break the copyright rules. If I or any of the moderators edit any posts that break the rules, a line of text will appear in the post with an explanation of why the post was edited.

The Administrator and my moderation team reserves the right to remove any inappropriate posts or ban anybody who does not adhere to the above list rules - you have been warned!

By joining the LEMB and posting to the forum means that you have agreed to all the above. Finally, and most importantly of all, please have fun and please enjoy the forums! Always remember the LEMB motto:

PLEASE NOTE - as I cannot be here 24 hours and day, 7 days a week or 365 days a year, approval of your membership can take anywhere up to 8 hours to complete. Therefore, there is no need to send me an email chasing me as to why you cannot access the forum until this 8 hour period has expired. For 99% of all applications, approval will take place anywhere up to 4 hours, but if you are in the US/Americas or the Far East, membership approval can take slightly longer. Please can I ask that you apply the 8 hour rule BEFORE chasing me for why your account hasn't been approved. Patience is a virtue and good things come to those that wait. Any email or PM's sent to me by members not waiting the full 8 hours will be ignored and deleted.

Could all prospective new members who have completed the initial registration process please remember that they must validate your registration before complete access to the forum is allowed. This is the email message you would have seen after successfully completing the first part of the registration process:

The board administrator has chosen to require validation for all email addresses. Within the next 10 minutes (usually instantly) you'll receive an email with instructions on the next step. Don't worry, it won't take long before you can post!

Failure to validate your membership after 4 days will result in the deletion of your registration request. If you have junk or spam programmes running, please note that the validation email sent to you can be caught and held. We cannot be held responsible for third-party spam software or ISP filtering that blocks the validation request.

Please also note that I resend the confirmation email several times during the 4 day reply window. Also, as each membership request is approved personally by me and is not an automatic process. Please therefore note that although I try and keep tabs on the validation request queue throughout the day, even I need my beauty sleep! This is especially true for any new members outside of Europe, so please have some patience and allow at least 8 hours before chasing me for reasons as to why you cannot access or post on the forum. If no answer is received by the end of the 4th day, the application will be automatically deleted.
